HUMN 4472 and NMAC 4460 Students,

As you have probably deduced by now, we cannot have our planned journals on Wikipedia. This is my fault, but no matter.

I have set up a support server for our journals, and each of you must move your journal from Wikipedia to this server (click Page, above left).

First, email me your desired username and email address (if it's not your MGA one). I will make you an account on this server, and a temporary password will be emailed to you. Once you receive it, login and verify your email address by clicking Preferences (top-right) and scrolling down to "Email confirmation." This is important.

Next, create your journal. Add your link to this page. You can create your journals right from the link you add.

Copy your journal from Wikipedia to its new home, then blank the page, put {{db-author}} as the only thing on the page, then save. This command tells the admins of Wikipedia to delete the page.

From now on, your journal lives on the new sever. This is the only thing that will change. Requirement 1 will still be written on Wikipedia.

I'm sorry for this trouble. Again, this is my fault, so I will not evaluate your first lesson's posts until after Sunday, September 1.

Please let me know if you have any questions. My thanks to everyone for his/her flexibility here. I hope everything else will be smoother. Oh, and since the Students server is new, not everything might work as expected. If something is broken, just let me know, and I'll fix it.

Citations

Link isnt red

My link is not red it is connected to another students journal. Daisja Butts I believe how do I go about fixing this? - De'Ja Sams

Amber Smith (not able to create journal or get the link)

I have not yet been able to figure this thing out. I have watched youtube videos and gone through the tutorial on this page and still have not been able to get to where I need to be with this wiki page.

Links in posts and editing view

I can't seem to get the links to Wikipedia articles to work. They show up as a reference or just type out the website and I have to delete the post and start over. I also can't find the way to switch to visual editing which I find very helpful. I've tried looking in settings for a solution but I can't find it.
